Everyone loves to spend time together during the holidays and what better way than uniting in song while celebrating Jesus’ birth.  On December 20, 2005, ABLAZE Youth Choir & Symphonic Band from First Romanian Pentecostal Church of Kenmore, together with organization "Viatǎ Nouǎ", prepared a Christmas Romanian Concert at Northwest University Chapel in Kirkland, WA.

This special evening of traditional carols combined with some contemporary carols provided the opportunity for the different denominations to set aside their differences and have an evening where the Romanian culture unites us all.  All Romanian Communities were invited and it was wonderful to see over 800 Romanian people attend. 

One of the participants in this event was ABLAZE Youth Choir, directed by Ben Sterciuc.  Being part of the choir myself, and also as part of the youth leadership, I see all the hard work and effort the young people dedicate to this ministry.  The Romanian Youth played such an important role, not just in the youth choir, but all throughout this event.  Another group that participated was ABLAZE Symphonic Band, directed by Adi Regus.  We also enjoyed the Goman Music Group from Muntele Sionului Church, singing acapella as well as some of the more modern rhythmic carols.  This really was the beauty of the concert to see not only diversity between the participants, but such variety even within one group like the Goman Music Group.  Also taking part in this event was Elim Music Group from Elim Christian Church.  Another, was Romanian Baptist Choir from Romanian Baptist Church, singing a few carols. 

Beside the groups mentioned above there were many pastors and local Romanian leaders.  Our speaker for the evening was Rev. Ezechel Suciu which brought us the wonderful message of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ being born in a manger.  Aside from all the different religious backgrounds, the Christmas Romanian Concert brought us Romanians closer together, reminiscing of old traditions, and brought glory to God, acknowledging Him for the purpose of our celebration.
